Customers rave about the quality of the fish, particularly the moist and flaky haddock, encased in a perfectly crispy batter. The portions are generously sized, providing excellent value for money—many leave with more than enough to fill their appetites. The special menu items like the pizza crunch and the chilli cheese bites are crowd favorites, frequently mentioned in reviews. Furthermore, the friendly staff enhance the experience with prompt service and warmth, making every visit enjoyable. Many choose Marco's for a quick bite due to its convenience and consistently high standards.

Most Disliked

Some guests note that the wait times can increase during peak hours, particularly on Fridays at 6 PM when the shop operates at full capacity. This can be a downside for those craving a quicker meal. A few customers have also mentioned a desire for more sauce options to complement their meals, particularly with fried items. The atmosphere, while casual and inviting, can feel a bit hectic during busy times, forcing some diners to share cramped spaces. However, these minor issues do not overshadow the overall positive dining experience.

I thought i would try this place as every time I pass by it is always busy, I tried the single fish and chips which consisted of a large battered haddock and plenty of chip, came in at £7:50. the batter was crispy, and the haddock moist. The chips were typical chip shop chips, I was only able to eat a 1/4 of the chip portion. the fish was made to order, but I didn't have to wait an excessive amount of time. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. I don't eat this type of food very often but would definitely return here when I do.

On holiday in Ayr, Taxi driver recommended this chippy, saying great prices and nice food. Boy was he right, Excellent portions, chips amazing full of flavour, non greasy, chilli cheese bites awesome. Fantastic prices. We will be visiting this chippy again as we stay at Craig Tara regularly, Cant wait to try all of the menu. I would 100% recommend it to all.

I opted for the ‘mini’ fish supper at a brilliant price of just three pounds. It was really delicious and the portion was so big. The young lad who served me was really friendly and we had a bit of banter. Thoroughly recommend this place and will be back next time I’m in Ayr.

Came here on a wee venture to Ayr. Did not fancy Blue Lagoon. Went for Chips n Salt & Chilli Chicken. Service polite and big guy who handed over food and girl were friendly. Good prices and portions. Probably should have bought a sauce with it. Worth trying.

Excellent prices for large, delicious portions. Definitely recommend their pizza crunch. Their £3 and £4 special menus are great value for money without compromising quality.

Marco's are one of the best in ayr. Situated just around the corner from the bus station on fort street, they do smaller portions, they have a £3.50 menu, £4.50 menu, also a full menu inside, drinks, slush too all at great prices, all freshly cooked when ordered, staff are always friendly and happy to answer any questions, my goto chippy when I am in Ayr
